Sandals Grand, St Lucia - Sunny, destination elopement
Destination elopement with family in St Lucia
St. Lucia continues to be one of the most sought-after destinations for weddings and elopements — and with good reason. Beyond the island’s breathtaking views and romantic atmosphere, we’ve noticed a beautiful trend emerging over the past year: family elopements. These celebrations bring together the couple and their closest loved ones — parents, siblings, and sometimes even grandparents — to witness and share in the joy of such an intimate day. There’s something incredibly meaningful about this style of elopement, and it has quickly become one of our favorites to capture.
Alyssa and Austin embraced this idea, choosing to elope with their family in St. Lucia for a wedding that was heartfelt and unforgettable. Their ceremony took place in the Overwater Chapel at Sandals Grande St. Lucia, surrounded by the crystal blue sea and their closest loved ones. With parents and a sibling present, the vows were tender, emotional, and filled with both tears and laughter.
Despite the blazing midday sun, there was a sense of calm and sweetness throughout the day. We found little pockets of shade for portraits, ensuring the couple remained comfortable while still capturing the island’s beauty. After the ceremony, Alyssa and Austin celebrated in the most joyful way — cutting cake, sharing dances, and even tossing a bouquet surrounded by family.
It was a wedding without the usual rush or fuss, allowing everyone to slow down and truly savor the moment. The result was a celebration that felt genuine, relaxed, and deeply connected — everything a St. Lucia family elopement should be.
Thank you Alyssa and Austin for having us.
Love and smiles,
Alberta and Celsus
